Raku Pot
This pot is hand thrown and porous. It would make an excellent pot for a plant as excess water will drain naturally through through it. The inside it black due to all the carbon it caught during the quick cooling and smoke phase of the raku firing.
These raku bowls are brought from room temperature to 1750 F degrees in less than two hours and then cooled to room temperature in less than 30 minutes in the artists back yard. The smoke is created with waste wood chips from a local Makerspace that would otherwise go to the trash.
This vessel would make an excellent plant pot as it it naturally porous and will drain excess water naturally through the walls and bottom.
